The Road to Pittsburgh 08

Joe practices for the Games

HELLO FROM WISCONSIN!

On Friday, July 11th 2008, eight members of our family
will start their journey to
the U. S. Transplant Games being held in Pittsburgh, PA.
The games will run from Friday July 11th until Wednesday July 16th.
We are all so excited and can hardly wait
until the announcer says,
"LET THE GAMES BEGIN!"
Everything is a go. We are packed, the signs are made,
the inflatable cows have been purchased, the cars are tuned up,
airline tickets for some of us are purchased, and of course the cheeseheads are
shined and ready to go .This trip will be our 4th games together.
We have added a new member to our gang this year. His name is Hunter, and yes,
he does have a tiny cheesehead too!!! Mom will not be making the trip with us this year,
but will be cheering loudly from home base. We will miss her...
It has been a long two year wait to get to this point. This trip is a highlight for our family.
We enjoy it SO much. We love to see all the athletes compete, and see the feeling of accomplishment and pride on their faces. They are not only excited for themselves,
but for the achievements of their fellow competitors.
It is truly TEAM SPIRIT!
We love to mingle with the donor families,
living donors and many people from other states that have had the same
experiences, and felt the same feelings that our family has. We cherish hearing
their stories of love an support.
We are truly blessed!

The name LASTing impressions! is a name chosen to pay tribute to a extraordinary family we hold near and dear to our hearts. The Last family made an important decision, at a most grief stricken time in their lives, to donate their loved one Tim's organs. Joe proudly cares for Tim's kidney. This sight is a tribute to the entire Last family with love!
